EliteFerrex here, with some disappointing news.

About two weeks ago, I had to have some repairs done on my computer (problems with the monitor, and the hard drive not being detected when starting up/coming back from standby, giving me bluescreens and etc.). Everything seemed well; monitor worked great, no problem detecting the new (and larger) hard drive, no problems.

Then, I realized something...

I started playing some of my music (all of which, among many other things, I made sure to transfer over to the new hard drive) and noticed something was wrong. It sounded washed out; it sounded pitiful on the bass side of the spectrum. Frustrated, I tried another song. Then, another. And another after that. Every one sounded horrible. So, I went online and listened to them from Newgrounds; again, the same washed out sound. So, I had one final idea.

I listened to the music on my iPod, and heard the same great sound as before, nothing washed out, everything as it always was. However, as my ears felt relief, my heart dropped. I suddenly thought, "Oh shit, not FL, too..."

Sure enough, FL Studio had the same sound problem. Every project I opened sounded horrible, much to my dismay. To make matters worse, I've been trying to find a solution to the problem for about a week, with absolutely no success.

So, what does this mean for me, and what does it mean for you?

Well, quite simply, it means...

*sigh* It means no new music. I've tried to start numerous new projects in FL hoping for some kind of inspiration, but it's all to no avail. I can't solve the problem with my audio, and I can't stand the way everything sounds with my system as it is. Thus, I won't be making any new music until I find some way around it.

As such, I'm going to upload a few songs that never made it up here, but that I hope will bring one last bit of enjoyment to you all.

It's been a pleasure getting reviews and feedback and wonderful comments from all of you, and I'm sorry to have to break this news to you.

Until the time when, and if, I manage to get back into making music, keep pumping those beats, and don't ever forget all the great music that has come from the video game world. I hope my contributions to the Newgrounds Audio Portal and to the supply of music worldwide has brought you joy, and that their presence here will continue to do so for many years to come.

Your friend and fellow audiophile,
Erich

ah that blows.. hope you get it working right.

Oh dear...

Oh my. Well that sucks. Something tells me that the only solution is to get a new comp. And by the sounds of this, you don't want to be doing that. Sorry for your lack of good sound. D:

Don't worry I know you'll pull something off i have faith in you XD

Aw :(

Who?

Try Options, Aduio settings. That might have the problem in it. I hope i helped cuz I want you to make songs for my games D:>

Or maybe your like sound card or whatever is messed up and you need a new one. Try videos and see if they all sound washed out. It might be your computer sound settings. Play around with that.

Something like this can't stop you! You'll figure something out, and it may happen when you least expect it. Hope you get your sound working right soon! <3

That fucking sucks, doesn't it? I think you should back up all of your files onto a blank CD when you get the chance.

Get new computer. Problem solved.

Until your computer gets fixed, I'll just have to settle with the awesome stuff you have in the Audio Portal right now.

I feel your pain =/
Not being able to make make music for a while really sucks!
But having a break can have some advantages!
Charging up your creativity meter, and inspiration =]
Just don't stop making music, and don't stop submitting!
I really love your music, your chaoz airflow remix is still on
top of my favorites =] Thanks!

Hope to hear from you again real soon!

Have you checked your sound card settings?

your problem is probably coming from a dying motherboard , just buy another one and you'll be just fine ;) good luck ! and makes us some more 8-bit music :P

Nooooo. You're one of my favorite artists!

Check to see that your sound card has up to date drivers. Then, if your sound card has a control panel, make sure all the settings are correct (play around with them if you aren't sure). I know that my sound card has a equalizer setting called "Powerful" that makes everything sound really crisp. Maybe something like that on your computer got disabled?

I maybe able to help you. This could or could not be a software problem but this is worth running if you what more info. PM me and I will send over something I use when something like this happens and give you tips on what files you may need to edit or repleace.

Sounds like a problem with your audio card. If it's just that, it shouldn't be too hard of a fix. Worst case scenario though is it's a problem with the audio bus on the motherboard itself, in which case, you're out of luck.

That's a shame. Hopefully you'll get the issue fixed, if it's the audio card you could replace it, otherwise, you may need to buy a new computer.

I've also sent you a few messages asking for a permission to use one of your 8-bit tracks, but you haven't answered, which is a shame since it would fit perfectly with my game.

But yeah, hopefully you'll get your stuff fixed.
