Magnificent work. A perfect 10.

Great beat, great blend of synth and guitar, and marvelous orchestral SFX.

Simply stated, this is everything I look for in a Boss Battle song. =)

5/5, 10/10, and an immediate download/upload to iPod.

Best regards,
EliteFerrex

NemesisTheory responds:

Hi again!
I'm really glad you liked the most, moreso that you think it has all it needs in a boss battle song. :D That really means a lot. :)

Thank you for the scores and review! :)

Definitely a victim of zerobombing; nice work.

Apparently someone felt like picking on a new audio submission just for the hell of it, but I'm here to let you know that this isn't bad at all.

I like the steady pace that it keeps throughout the song, and the usual 140BPM is a good pace for a slow-building song such as this. I do, however have just a little bit of advice for your next submission:

-I noticed that you used the PoiZone Demo, which causes that whistling sound every once in a while, but it actually didn't interfere with the song too much, so no worries there.
-Try to find a little bit lower bass synth to counteract the higher-pitched synths that you used as your lead.

Anyway, if it's okay with yoiu, I'd like to try and remix this song, giving you credit for the original, of course. I like the way it sounds, and would like to try to remix it, if you wouldn't mind. Let me know!

Anyway, 5/5, 9/10, and downloaded. Check out my stuff sometime!

Dj-MilK responds:

hey yea..thanks for the review, im still not done with this one, probly gonna remix it myself...but your more than welcome to remix...as long as i get the credit for the original)))...thanks again for the review..and your totaly right about the zerobombing...fucking people are assholes))

anyways..thanks again..and let me know when you come up with the remix..i wanna hear it...plus if you got any other ideas, let me know.

keep mixing

It's interesting.

It's missing some bass, for one. It's a very original idea, though; doesn't sound like anything else I've heard on here. I wouldn't call it techno, though. It's halfway between something orchestrated and DnB.

As a matter of fact, I have a proposal for you. If you want to remix my song "Dance to My Trance," then I'd like to remix this song. Get back to me.

8/10, 4/5. Nice work, overall.

firebanesword responds:

Sure! I'd be glad to have you remix this! I'll PM you about it.
Thanks for the review!

Extremely ear-pleasing; reminds me of ATB.

That's a good thing, mind you; ATB's one of my favorite composers. I love how the song evolves and the beat changes from the way it begins to the traditional 4-on-the-floor Dance beat later on. You have some great synths, and a marvelous ear for notes. 10/10, 5/5, and a download, of course. =)

EliteFerrex

P.S. - How DID you get that ATB-esque synth?

SkyMarshall responds:

Good find there :) Everytime I use this kind of synth, I think of ATB as well. I was a fan when he did it big a while back. However, the synth is pretty common actually. I think I used Pro-53 for this one if Im not mistaking. Its in all the major VST's to in some shape or form. But its easy to create, just take a clean sine-wave and play around with it until you are happy with the result. Thanks a bunch for your review here. Makes me smile on a boring as hell day at work.

This song needs to be discovered!

Another great piece of work from you, once again. Although it was your Top 5 "Forever Gamer" that brought me to your audio, this song is also an instant favorite, 10/10, 5/5 and download. Again, a marvelous job. I have to ask you, since this song sounds like it was made in FL Studio, what on earth IS that marvelous bass you used? It has a powerful, energetic sound to it, and if it's a default in FL, and you don't mind sdharing, I'd really like to know...

Anyway, thanks again for giving me another song to add to my collection of music. Listening to your work is giving me inspiration, and the knowledge that not every song I create has to be 160 BPM in order to sound truly great. =)

EliteFerrex

SkyMarshall responds:

Thanks man :) And ofcourse I dont mind sharing. For this one I used one of the bass-patches originally preset in reFX Vanuard, and just tweaked it until I was happy with the way it made the kick bounce with bass. But, a lot of the bundled samples in FL has good bass potential as well. It's all a matter of equalising and cutting the punch at the right time.

And no, 160bpm is too fast. Happy harcore I guess :)
I usually stay in the range of 125 to 140bpm.
You get to play a lot more with instruments when its slow. Try it :)

Spoken like a true gamer. Thank you.

I'll try my best to remain calm while reviewing this, having just eaten a brownie and imbibed coffee.

I absolutely love everything about this song, from the lead synths to your truly awesome use of 8-bit squares and pulses. I use a blend of 8-bit sfx and newer-style saws and synths in almost all of my music, so this is exactly my cup of tea. I'm usually not a fan of lyrics in my music, either, but this song speaks to me... 100%. Nice voice, very well mastered, extremely catchy, and a fantastic ending. This song seems to hit every audible frequency from the lowest bass to the highest treble, something I strive to acheive in all of my work, and you've hit the nail on the head. Thoroughly pleasing from beginning to end. 10/10, 5/5, an INSTANT download, and placed on my iPod ASAP thereafter.

All hail the new anthem of gamers everywhere! Gamers of the world unite!!

Great work, and I hope to hear more from you in the future.

EliteFerrex

P.S. - Any advice you might have for my work would be greatly appreciated!

SkyMarshall responds:

I'll try to remian calm when respondin to this, as Im at work plowing through my 50th cigarette and god knows how many cups of coffee Im on now. Jesus. Anyway, nothing like a wall of text when your bored to tears :) Good choice on the 8-bit sound, I will check it out when I get home from work as well. There really should be more artists focusing on game-inspired music... it speaks to more people than folks generally seem to know. I will make more for sure, and Im glad you'll continue to watch out for new tracks.

P.S. - Adviced and/or tips can be arranged.

How else COULD I vote?

You've done it again, Kr1z.

Great choice of bass for this one, as well as the lead synths. I also enjoyed the portions of the song that had the ambient pad as a background to your main melody. Well executed.

10/10, 5/5. Current Score - 4.51 / 5.00 (+ 0.0030)

Congratulations, once again,
EliteFerrex

P.S. - Check out my most recent works, too!

Kr1z responds:

thx, awesome review! i'll check ur stuff too (=

Definitely better.

Definitely sounds much better with the bass. Now, the only thing I'd recommend is to try and see if you can vary the bassline up a little bit. The bass matches well, but the loop of 6 notes makes it just a little bit repetitive!

I'm going to try to release a techno version of this song, and maybe you'll catch my drift. I'll even use your song as a reference for the notes! THen, maybe you can make a Rock version of my techno version! It'll be like teamwork! XD

9/10, 5/5. Current Score - 4.05.

Thanks!

sounds like a good deal

A perfect example of old-school rock music!

Great job on this! Nice classical bass, perfect percussion, and the synth in the background matched perfectly. (It sounds like the synths they play in Wii Sports Baseball, almost.)

Great work, and I'm proud to say that I have no advice for you. Come up with some lyrics and throw us another one sometime!

10/10, 5/5, and an immediate DL.

CyborgStalker responds:

Glad you feel this way. I'll work hard to produce more simmilar work.

Not bad! Just one thing missing.

The main melody you had was good, and the percussion was fitting.

The only thing is, I think it needs some bass. A melody is good, but without bass, the song is more like a skeleton than a body. Bass adds the meat to the bone, so to speak. A particular note in bass can totally change the way a melody sounds, so give it a shot next time! Good work on this one.
Drop by my page and check out my stuff, sometime!
